The Leslie Public Schools Foundation was founded in 1992 as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable corporation. Under the direction of a volunteer Board of Trustees, the Foundation works in coordination with, but is separate from, Leslie Public Schools. The Board is committed to assisting Leslie Public Schools in generating and allocating resources for programs and projects. In recent years, The Leslie Public Schools Foundation has assisted or coordinated in funding projects and scholarships totaling approximately $1,000,000.

According to their website, Leslie Township was originally a part of the township of Aurelius. On December 30, 1837, it was organized as a separate township. The first Leslie Township meeting was held at the home of Henry Fiske on the first Monday in April of 1838.
